Small Business Software,
Built for Real Operations.
Baked Kale develops practical desktop business software for small companies. FDE IMS is being designed around two models: License, a perpetual internal-use license with source code, and Updates, a subscription plan maintained by FDE.
From Workflow to Software
FDE IMS is being developed as desktop-first business software for small companies. Final specifications have not yet been set.
FDE IMS is still under development. Prices shown below are estimates. Final availability, product versions and update policies will be announced once they are finalized.
Two product models
License and Updates are designed for different ownership, source-code and maintenance needs.
FDE IMS License
A perpetual internal-use license with source code. The purchasing legal entity may customize the software for its own internal business use.
- Source code included
- Perpetual internal-use rights
- Internal customization allowed
- External developers may assist under license and confidentiality terms
- Updates and security are generally customer-managed
Resale, redistribution, sublicensing, unauthorized transfer and third-party SaaS or service provision are not permitted.
FDE IMS Updates
A subscription plan with ongoing functionality, security and compatibility updates managed by FDE. Source code is not included.
- Ongoing updates managed by FDE
- Functionality, security and compatibility improvements
- No source code delivery
- Access tied to an active subscription
- Update operations managed by FDE
Update cadence, versioning and final service terms are still being defined.
License vs. Updates

How It Works
Choose a model
Choose License for perpetual internal use with source code, or Updates for ongoing FDE-managed maintenance and updates.
Deploy internally
The current design direction prioritizes desktop-first, local-first operation.
Operate under the appropriate responsibility model
License is primarily customer-managed, while Updates is designed around FDE-managed maintenance and security updates.
Current design direction
The following describes the current direction only and does not claim completed features or a security track record.
Local-first direction
The design prioritizes operation within the customer’s internal or local environment.
License
After purchase, updates and security are generally the License customer’s responsibility.
Updates
Updates is designed for ongoing FDE-managed functionality, security and compatibility updates during the subscription term.
